POLICE INTELLIGENCE.

MONDAY.

G. WARD, D. McDONALD, PATRICK NEWLAND (all bond) and ELLEN HOWARD (labouring under a similar incapacity, and assigned to Mr. BYRNES), were charged with being in the back premises of JONES’s public-house, Macquarie-street, on the previous day. HOWARD had obtained leave to go to the House of Prayer, but not the “spiritual” one where she was found, and such heresy, or patronizing [sic] JONES’s meeting-house, instead of the established ones of Messieures [sic] the Divines, coupled with some rather obstreperous behaviour towards her master and mistress, she was doomed to undergo penance, in the shape of Government slops, and ration at the Factory for the next two succeeding months. The male prisoners, after a sharp reprimand, were discharged.
