Evidence Type: Newspaper Report > Coronial Inquest
4 June 1844
On the body of HARRIET GILBERT, who died of apoplexy. The deceased was a servant of Mrs. SMYTH, the Matron of the Factory; and as it appeared in evidence that the deceased had little else to do than to assist Mrs. SMYTH’s seven or eight other servants to do nothing, her work could have done her little harm. Dr. ROBERTSON deposed that the deceased was of a very plethoric and sanguineous habit, and doubtless died of apoplexy. Verdict accordingly.
