PARRAMATTA

COURT OF QUARTER SESSIONS

The sittings of this Court commenced last Tuesday (with a calendar of twenty-three prisoners, and twenty charges), and concluded on Thursday.

The Chairman was assisted on the Bench during the Sessions by G. ELLOTT [sic], Esq., P. M., Dr. ANDERSON, Dr. FOSTER, Dr. PARSONS, Captain FORBES, and A. L. M’DOUGALL, Esq., J. P.’s.

The members of the Bar present were Mr. CALLAGHAN (Crown Prosecutor), Mr. PUREFOY, and Mr. HOLROYD.

The following were the indictments, and their result.

THURSDAY

MARY JOHNSON pleaded guilty to stealing, on the 6th July, 1847, a shawl, the property of HENRY PRICE, of Parramatta. Sentenced six months to the third class Female Factory.
