SYDNEY QUARTER SESSIONS
WEDNESDAY, MAY 3.
The Court opened this morning at twelve o’clock, before the Chairman, W. M. MANNING, Esq., and JOHN CAMPBELL, Esq., J. P.
ANN KELLEY, a woman apparently 45 years of age, pleaded guilty to an indictment for stealing six silver spoons, the property of JOHN WRIGHT. It appeared she had been convicted of larceny several times before; she prayed for a merciful sentence in consideration of her having a large family, and called Mrs. WRIGHT, the wife of the prosecutor, to corroborate her statement, from whom, however, it appeared she only had one boy. She was sentenced to six calendar months’ hard labour at the Factory.
