SYDNEY QUARTER SESSIONS
SATURDAY. — Before the Chairman and Mr MANNING, with a Military Jury.
CATHERINE HASTINGS was tried and found guilty of stealing a handkerchief, the property of FINLAY KERR, in July last. Sentence was passed upon her of six months’ confinement in the 3rd Class of the Factory. The Chairman told the prisoner that the Court intended this lenient sentence to operate as an inculcation that a previous good character is invariably of some service to a prisoner.
