Margaret Thompson

Evidence Type: Newspaper Report
31 October 1834

MARGARET THOMPSON, assigned to Mr. JAMES SIMMONS, of King-street. Mr. SIMMONS stated that he had only received the prisoner from the factory the previous day, she had not been many hours in his service when she had the modesty to say, the situation was such as did not suit her fancy, and she would sooner go back from whence she came, than remain any longer in his employment, and the Bench acceded to her proposition,  by ordering her to be removed forthwith to her old retreat, there to sojourn in the third class for 3 months.
