Evidence Type: Newspaper Report
7 October 1834
SELINA M’GARRY,* a little dumpy Putlander, was next ushered to the rostrum, charged with absconding from Mr. BELL, of the Carters’ Barracks. The Bench sent her for one month to the third class, and to be returned to her master. On leaving the bar, she declared she would not go back again. Colonel Wilson ordered her back, and after giving her a severe lecture, a month more was added to the sentence he had just past, remarking, at the same time, that prisoners ought to bear in mind that all such sentences very invariably added to their original one.
* SELINA McGARY / SELINA McGARRY per Southworth (3) (1832)
