Evidence Type: Newspaper Report
21 February 1834
WEDNESDAY.—JANE CARROLL was charged with scheming in the following way: — On Monday last she was brought before the Bench, and sentenced to fourteen days to the Factory, at which time she requested that she might be detained in the gaol, as she had a charge to make against her mistress. This was assented to, and two days were allowed, but on now coming before the Bench, she stated that she had no charge against her. The Bench therefore sentenced her to 52 days in addition to her former sentence.
