Evidence Type: Newspaper Report
30 June 1829
MARY FLINN, an assigned servant to Mr. B. LEVEY, was brought before the bench charged with insolence and insubordination — not having the feat of her master and mistress before her eyes — the said Mistress FLINN declared to her master that she wished all of them were on fire; and sure enough MOLLY’s wish stood a chance of being completed, for the nursery by the carelessness of MOLLY caught fire and several articles were burnt. Under these circumstances MOLLY’s master wished her to return to the factory. Two months to the third class in the factory.
