Evidence Type: Newspaper Report
12 June 1829
On Tuesday last one Mrs. HOWELL brought up her assigned servant, surnamed and christen-named MARY EDWARDS. The said MARY having absented herself from her mistress’s service for some days successively, and this being the third offence of similar depravity, the mistress did not entertain any particular wish that MOLLY should “pleat” or “clear-starch” any more, so the frail offender was adjudged three months to the third class in the Parramatta factory, and then to be returned to government.
