OFFENCES, CHARGES, &c.
A woman, representing herself as the widow of JACKSON, who was inhumanly murdered last October in the district of Bringelly, craved assistance from the police. She stated that her marriage with her deceased husband about eighteen months ago, allowed of her leaving the Factory at Parramatta; but his lamentable death since placed her in a situation of most painful perplexity. She had a large young family, but was still uncertain whether the law would not consider her illegally at large.
The superintendent of police commiserated the unfortunate woman’s case, and recommended an application to be made to the Governor on the subject. However, the law required her to be recommitted to the Factory till something further might be adopted.
