EMU PLAINS —ESTABLISHMENT.
Return of female convicts received on and discharged from the establishment of Emu Plains, from the 1st of May, 1822, to 31st of December, 1824:
MARY MOORE, received May 1, 1822, arrived per John Bull.—Discharged January 22, 1824.
MARY NEALE, received same date, arrived per John Bull.—Discharged March 12, 1823.
CATHERINE NEALE, received same date, arrived per John Bull.—Discharged April 12, 1824.
MARY M’CUE, received same date, arrived per John Bull.—Discharged December 14, 1824.
SARAH HEWSTER, received same date, arrived per Providence.—Discharged July 19, 1823.
MARY CLARKE, received same date, arrived per Providence.—Discharged September 23, 1823.
MARY BUCKLEY, received same date, arrived per Friendship. Discharged same date.
ANN CURRAN, received same date, arrived per Elizabeth.—Discharged December 27, 1823.
The above were returned to the Factory, being unable to perform field labour.
JANE WINGFIELD, received same date, arrived per Providence. Discharged February 8, 1823.—Returned to the Factory at her own request.
ANNE ANDERSON, received same date, arrived per John Bull. Discharged Dec. 31, 1822—Returned for repeated misconduct.
SUSAN PARKER, received March 19, 1823, arrived per Providence. Discharged February 8, 1823. —Returned at her own request.
ANN CRUMPTON, received same date, arrive per Mary Anne.—Discharged same date.—Returned for bad conduct.

It is a remarkable fact, and deserving of particular attention, that among thirty-two women taken without any rule of selection, there should prove to be only two so hardened in sin, so irreclaimable as to spurn the hand of kindness extended towards them, and reject all inducements “to turn from their wickedness and live.” Only two were returned to the Factory for “repeated misconduct.”
