MARY REDMAN, lately acquitted before the Criminal Court for the murder of HAPPY FILLER, for want of sufficient testimony, was brought before the Police Authority on Monday forenoon last, charged by BUTCHER and CHAPMAN, police officers, with keeping a most infamous and disorderly house, in defiance to the solemn admonitions she had but recently received. The Magistrates felt it their duty to remove so great a nuisance from the town of Sydney, and therefore sentenced the said MARY REDMAN to six months’ hard labour in the Factory at Parramatta. The miserable woman is under bail to appear at the next Criminal Sessions, on a charge of larceny. The Public will shortly have to be congratulated on the speedy extirpation of houses of ill-fame in the town of Sydney, so strenuously directed are the exertions of the Police in this particular.
