c. 15 January 1821
PRISONER’S NAME: ELIZ.TH HINSLEY [sic: possibly ELIZABETH HENNISSEY] [See Notes]
SHIP’S NAME: Minstrell [sic: Minstrel (1) (1812)]
DATE OF FACTORY ADMISSION: c. 15 January 1821
FROM WHENCE ADMITTED: Sydney Gaol
DATE OF GAOL ADMISSION: 15 January 1821
STATUS (BOND/FREE): not recorded
BY WHOM COMMITTED TO SYDNEY GAOL: J. PIPER Esq [sic: JOHN PIPER Esq]
CRIMES: not recorded
REMARKS/PUNISHMENT: Factory hard Labour 12 Months
DISCHARGED TO WHOM: not recorded
TRANSCRIBER’S NOTES: The surname appears to have been recorded incorrectly by the scribe in the original record, as there is no exact match for this name on the Minstrel records. There is an ELIZABETH HENNISSEY on board as well as ELIZABETH HINCHCLIFF. This convict and two others admitted to the gaol on the same day are connected with a brace, potentially indicating they committed a crime together and were sentenced together, but that is not a given. Further research required to verify or disprove all of these theories.
