TRANSCRIBER’S NOTES: The identity of this convict is unclear. There were a number of ships with variations on the name Mary in the 1820s, but none in the recorded year of 1824. Moreover, there was not a MARY CHESTER on board any of them. There was, however, a MARY CHESTER per Almorah (3) (1824), so that ship has been tentatively included above as potential line of enquiry. Alternatively, CHESTER may have been a married name/alias. CHESTER’s ship was also recorded in gaol admissions as Mary Anne / Mary Ann. Further research required.
