TRANSCRIBER’S NOTES: The identity of this convict is unclear, as the census records CATH.E RYAN (that is, CATHERINE RYAN) but other copies of the same 1828 Census appear to record REGAN. Complicating matters further, the Lady Rowena (1826) does not have a CATHERINE RYAN, but it does contain a CAROLINE REGAN/REAGAN whose other particulars, such as age, sentence duration, appear to align with those of the individual who appears in the 1828 Census as CATH.E. RYAN. Nevertheless, there was also a CATHERINE ROGAN on the Almorah (3) (1824). Further research required.
