TRANSCRIBER’S NOTES: There was no MARY ANN COOPER aboard Mary III (1) (1823). This convict appears to have been the convict transported under the name MARY WELDING per Mary III (1) (1823), the ‘MARY WILDON / WILDEN’ who was regularly admitted to Sydney Gaol and the Parramatta Female Factory, and also the ‘MARY WILDEN’ [sic] who married JOHN COOPER at Parramatta in 1824. In later gaol/Factory records, she was recorded as MARY COOPER and JOHN COOPER was noted to be her husband and a resident of Wallis Plains (present-day Maitland).
