TRANSCRIBER’S NOTES: There is no MARY ANN LYONS aboard the recorded ship, so this was likely an alias/married name. Note, too, that although MARY ANN was originally transported for seven years, she was sentenced to death in the colony for killing her ‘husband’ THOMAS CLARKE in January 1822, a sentence which was then apparently commuted to transportation for life and was served in the Parramatta Female Factory. Further research required to identify the name under which she was transported.
