Report on Female Factory

Evidence Type: Newspaper Report
7 October 1834

On Thursday last COLONEL WILSON stated from the Bench, that for the future, all female prisoners sentenced to the factory would be forwarded daily from the Police Office to the Steam Boat Office, which would prevent the necessity of their being sent to the gaol; and in order to facilitate such an arrangement, females under charge at the Police Office would be put to the bar the first thing in the morning.
