Report on Female Factory

The Ladies’ Committee of the Female Factory have distributed as rewards, since the 8th January last, among servants for good conduct and remaining a certain time in their services, on the whole—the sum of £20, 15s.

The following was the state of the Sydney gaol on Wednesday; viz.—For trial, 85; respites, 1; transportation, 3, bail, 10; confines, 27; labour, 12; irongangs, 2; Factory, 4; Newcastle, 3; debtors, 36; total, 156. There are fewer prisoners confined for trial this session than any four which have preceded it.
