Sarah Gainer (1836–1839)

SARAH GAINER was a convict’s child who died at the Parramatta Female Factory and was buried in the parish of St. John’s, Parramatta on 4 April 1839, with a recorded age of three years old. Parentage not recorded. However, her mother’s ship was recorded on SARAH’s burial register as Diana (1833). No convicts on board had the surname “GAINER,” so this was either her mother’s married name or an alias.
